Kona Project 2 breakage

Kona P2 on an 07 Rig. One day after riding at a decent clip i noticed some spider-webbed paint on the front of the blades right at the bend into the crown. As well as some serious paint cracking on the same spot but on the backside. Of course i figured it was just from flexing after i hit some sick jumps. Ignorance prevailed and it failed, two weeks later, resulting in a rake of something close to -60mm.

Anyone else break one? I didn't feel like waiting so I got one from my lbs and threw it on same day. And of course a day later 5 switchblades show up on ebay. Someone instill some confidence in me please, honestly I had no worries about 4130 forks until i cut this ****er open and realized how thin the walls are.

The Project 2 is an XC fork, not a jump fork. Supple steel forks bend. Not a 4130 or steel fork issue in general. Just be glad it bent rather than snapped. There are plenty of beefier forks out there.

The Switchblade (Bonty?) is not a jump fork either and could fail under similar treatment.
friend of mine bent one on his work bike (messenger)... no jumping involved except for the occasional curb-bunnyhop.
i should refrain from napolean dynamite references, no dirt jumps or serious air just the unavoidable foot drops or logs at speed.

And the bonty reference, irony at its best.
Nice thing about steel is it bends as it starrts to fail.Carbon just snaps.
