I built up a 2019 Big Honzo ST for my brother using 29" wheels (2.35" tires F&R) BB height is 12.75". I am a FS guy and during a couple rides on the Honzo it feels tall. Stock BB height w/ 27.5+ tires is 12.2". Anyone think 27.5 x 2.35" tires would work out?

depending on where you are it could work, or it could be a pedal scarpper....

what fork are you running? maybe run 120mm fork with the 29er tires?

No. That would lower the BB like 1" or something without giving you any more BB drop, which it seems you desire.

Is your brother complaining about it or just you? If it's not a problem for him I'd say just ride it. There's lots of people out there riding a Big Honzo on 29" wheels without any issues.

27.5x2.35 would likely make the BB too low with a 120mm fork. See if you can increase fork travel to 140mm, that might be okay.

Again, putting a longer fork on it will raise the BB which he seems to not like.
