We are thinking of riding the Kokopelli Trail the week-end of April 16th-19th. Most tour companies don't start offering rides until Apr 26th or the following week.

Are we going to early? I know conditions can vary year to year...but in general is this too early?

We were also thinking that if an outfitter is offering a tour a week later we should be OK. Reasoning is that the outiftter would tend to err on the side of caution and we are only a week earlier.

Any thoughts????

I think you will be fine.
Although at that time of year the weather can be volatile. Especially near Polar mesa you could encounter snow and pretty chilly temps. It all depends. Just be prepared with a good assortment of clothes.
It is high desert area so hot and cold can be the norm.

IMO you'll be great unless a storm hits. The trail you may have to bypass will be on the LaSalle Mountains outside Moab. That will still be snowed in.
