Does anyone know where I can get a 14 tooth freewheel that will fit on a surly flip flop hub? Preferably one that will fit a 1/2x1/8 inch chain. I am starting to wonder if such a thing exsists. Thanks for any help.

No can do. 14 and 15 tooth freewheels require the smaller diameter threads found on BMX flip flop hubs. If you're looking for a higher gear for longer rides to the trailhead, why don't you set yourself up with a fixie cog for that part of the ride? It'll be fun!

AC Racing makes a 15 tooth but that is the smallest you can get to fit a standard thread on hub. webcyclery has them for about $15 I think.

I built up a trek 8000 frame as a winter bike and 32x14 was the magic gear combo I figured out from stuff I had laying around. So to use a freewheel, I would have to experiment with a 34 tooth chainring I guess. Thanks for the help.
