Hi all,

I went to several bike shops to find me some knee warmers, sadly my quest was futile. However, I saw some nike knee sleeves in a sports equipment shop, as seen here: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageMANIKE-NOPKS2.html

Are these suitable for cycling?

This may sound like the stupidest question ever: Are there any dangers involved in using this kind of support, I mean, could your muscles and joints begin to develop unnaturally?

Thanks!

You'll find plenty of cycling specific knee warmers on the net if your local shops don't carry them. Try qbike.com or bestwebbuys.com. That Nike thing looks to be something more oriented to someone with knee problems, but I suppose it'd work (but that hole in the middle?); I don't think the additional support would be bad. One of the supposed benefits of good lycra shorts or tights is that the compression aids your muscles in exercise.
