Finding the “enduro” style kneeguards with stacked foam around the patella to be pretty uncomfortable. Looking for something on the lighter end but with a contoured knee cup. My old fox launches fit the bill, but I see they are now dvo3 material so not sure it would be a direct replacement for those.

7IDP Sam Hill pads.
So comfy I forget they're on.
I legit put them on in my living room before some rides because they just dissppear.

ninja-edit: the ONLY thing I don't totally love about them is the 'armor' part is VEEEERRRRY stiff when it's cold, like 30's coming out of the gear bag. They warm up and are soft once they're on your legs, but they take some time to mold to your legs in winter.

If those are too burly, look at Leatt Airflex Pro pads. These are my "casual ride" pads. They're durable, but decidedly less protective. Upside is that they're super vented, I wear these more in the summer here in Phoenix.

7IDP Transition pads are even more comfy than the Sam Hills, although with slightly less padding. Great for SoCal Summer's.

The Ion K-Traze Amp is the best knee pad I've ever tried. Fits so well and has just enough protection to be functional, but is super light and not in the way. It has lots of ventilation, zippers down the sides to help you get them on and off. Velcro strap on the top to cinch it down. The knee cup is the perfect length and size. Not too big, and not too small. Holds your knee really well. Is on the thinner size for knee pads, but after some crashes at speed, barely can feel it on your knee. Also has some nice thin protection on the sides of the knee.

Also, very well built and seems like quality. Overall, I can't imagine there are lots knee pads out there better. Only as good. I've read and heard some good things about the 7iDP pads. That d30 material seems to be pretty cool.

I really love my Ion's though and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for something on the lighter/thinner side of knee pads, that still protect in case of a crash. There are obviously going to be beefier options for DH racing or whatever, but for Enduro or bike park runs, they are perfect. And they fit exactly as they say they will based on your leg measurements.
