Just got back from doing the Steele Crk loop from Steele Cr Rd to Kinglake.

It was about 20km with 496m of climbing. All in all a very nice ride with some sweet downhills and single track between the fire trails.

Next is to get out to St Andrews with the crew over there.

How were the trails in the wet conditions? I'd imagine some of the clay areas would be pretty sticky.

Shelly track was very loose and wet. The rest was pretty good. Brands Hatch was nice and sticky (quick) and Bundy track was good although had a lot of dead fall.

Come to think of it, I've never known Shelly's Track to not be wet and slippery...but where is Brands Hatch?

PS: Last I was there Shelly's track was in pretty bad shape and not much fun to ride, I would not recommend it. I actually prefer to go the long way on the Kinglake road.
