Killer V Stem Size/Source

I've been loving my recently acquired Killer V, but would like to go with a shorter stem. The current stem is 120 or 130mm and I would like to drop it down to 80 or 90mm for a better riding position (for me) and for quicker steering. The problem is that it seems to be an odd size. I measured the stem ID to be 1.25" (1 1/4") and that doesn't seem to be a standard size - at least in my searching. Most stems seem to be either 1" or 1.125". :madman:

Can anyone verify that the stem is in fact 1.25"? If so, where can I find one (LBS said no-go). Should I try to find a LBS that specailizes in Cannondale for help, or am I going to have better luck online? I would like to start out with a cheap one to be sure that I like the shorter stem, then upgrade after I'm sure I like the size.

Thanks in advance!

Well, went to another LBS that specializes in Cannondale, and again I got the no-go. Seems that not even Cannondale supports this tube size any more. Guess I either deal with it or buy an adapter, headset, fork, and stem.

I needed to upgrade the fork anyway

You might want to try these guys: http://www.yellowjersey.org/stemz.html

Tandem bike shops are also a good source. For example: http://www.tandemseast.com/parts/stems.html

Ebay is also a good source

Good luck.
