KHS or FOX or Rock Shox?

656 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Got Wheelz?
Hey guys,

New to this forum, but not necessarily new to bikes. Picked up a Haro Flightline Comp hard tail as my little XC/very very very mild freeride bicycle. I know I want something with at least 120mm of travel and I definitely want it to be air. Magnesium lowers and uppers would be nice, but if not lowers would be key. Something with a lock out and I dont want any of those through the fork quick releases, just a normal QR please.

Heres my FOX option:

Heres my KHS option: ?

Heres my Rock Shox Option:

I work at a place where I can get discounts for bike stuff so price isnt THAT much of an issue. Thanks.

bump for help guys. Please.
The Fox you have listed is for 29" wheels, not 26" like you Haro has. The appropriate fork is this one:

Although, you don't need their top flight XC fork, especially since you're putting it on a not light bike to begin with. I'd suggest you go with the slightly heavier, and much cheaper Float:

The Reba is also a nice fork, and highly adjustable. However, it has a simple port orifice rebound circuit compared to the Fox's shimmed rebound circuit.

Both the Reba and the Fox products are mature, and you won't really be looking at any serious problems. Both will require maintenance, with the Fox requiring more because of their crappy seals.

If you don't mind doing the maintenance, then buy the Fox. If you'd rather just ride and not worry about it, get the Rock Shox. If you don't care one way or the other, buy whichever one's cheaper.

KHS doesn't make suspension forks. Why did you think they did?

Correct on the FOX shock, my mistake.

As for the KHS, I was talking to a guy I worked with saying that we can order parts from KHS, didnt know if that means they carried forks, and anyone knew about them and we can stuff.

No, KHS doesn't manufacture forks, but they might be able to sell you a Fox or Rock Shox.
Yeah that's what I meant. Thanks bad.
