Strangely enough, I've never ridden in Keystone. I'm going to be up there for two days in August for a conference and I'm looking for XC ride suggestions. I'm looking for a longer ride (3-4hrs) for one day and a shorter ride (1-2hrs) for the following day. Singletrack with great views (are there any poor views in Keystone?), lots of climbing and sweet descents preferred.

I'm also toying with the idea of renting a full-on DH bike and armor...:cornut:

Climb the road up Keystone Gulch and go up Westridge to the Colorado Trail. There are some loops of the CT between Westridge and HWY 9 (Blair, Keystone Ranch, etc). Or, from the CT at HWY 9, continue across and up Gold Hill to Peaks trail. Take Peaks into Frisco. Take the Dam road back toward Dillon and go over the Old Dillon Reservoir trail. From Dillon take the bike path back to Keystone.

Another fun ride is to go up Loveland Pass to Arapahoe Basin. Climb the front access road to the Lenawee Trail and descend down the backside into Peru Creek. Then come back down the Montezuma Road into Keystone.

There are a bunch of good Jeep roads out of Montezuma. Check out the Montezuma's Revenge website for some maps.
