I wanted to rip jefferson too! Last year it had so many trees down, It got the chainsaw last, colorado trail was cleared first. And it typically is much wetter then the Colorado Trail, steeper, more rippin too. Anyway It was my guess last weekend that it was 1) extremely muddy and 2)possibly hadn't been cleared. I put a cold beer into a snowbank at treeline, much more snow this year then last year. Strong move eh?
I might hit it this weekend if i was you, if Jefferson is just a slop-fest, Colorado trail doesn't suck to come down. AND that extra week may be just the ticket. The top will be melted out this weekend or next i think, based on what I saw. have fun!
