The S6 is...

a very new tire, and seems to be quite popular at the moment. I haven't found anyone that isn't out of stock on them currently. You likely won't find a "good price" on them for the time being. They're to new and selling to well. You might find a $2 to $3 difference, but they'll be pretty close to msrp, between $48 and $55, depending on size etc.

So keep an eye out, availability is sketchy at present and prices are close to msrp. But it should get better once things calm down a bit.

The 26x2.10 version just started shipping a few weeks ago. I have a set but have not been able to ride them yet.
Thanks for the quick reply. Please post your thoughts, impressions, etc. once you've had a chance to try them out. Looks like they'll be well suited to the type of riding I do, but I'm typically not an early adopter. Hoping someone will nudge me off the fence . . . .

I haven't ridden them yet, but a friend of mine raced them (rear tire, Karma on front) a couple of weeks ago and seemed to like them a lot. He commented that they hooked up better on the climbs than his SB8 and that he really could not tell a difference in the rolling resistance. He really liked the fact that the tire was a good blending of the SB8 with better cornering and a bit more traction on trail conditions other than dry hardpack. (North Carolina singletrack with not so much rain over the last three months)
