Hi All.

I've only ever used shimano gear outer. I do long 8-12hr mtb rides in the middle of nowhere so despite loving the ride of a lightweight bike, reliability is also important (also why my bike isnt featherweight). Does anyone have any long term reviews of either KCNC lightweight or Jagwire XEX Gear Outer? I need to replace my current shimano outer soon.

I've been using kcnc lightweight outer for about 6 years and have had no problems whatsoever. I've changed the inner 3 times in those years.

I´ve been using Alligator i-link and mini i-link in all my bikes since 2012 and could not be happier. Last cable housing you will ever have to buy with these systems. Can be cut or enlarged endlessly, liner is cheap. I have not used those systems yet. The alligator needs lubrication on the outers like every 2 years, otherwise they creak a tiny bit, but it's easy to do.

I can't find a review that states the weight savings next to a comparable length of SRAM or Shimano oem stuff. I bet it's like 19 grams.

I've had the Alligator outers wear out from time to time. The aluminum gets worn from the dust that works it's way into the joint. The movement of the handlebar from steering, etc... causes the dust to grind away a little at the aluminum. Not a big deal, but certainly not a set it and forget it kind of thing. I still like them though.

Where are you guys buying replacement liner for both the large and small I-Links?
