I know this is our mtb forum, but I figured many might be kayakers too. I'm trying to find a kayak trip for a friend who is looking to paddle and camp (weekend trip) on lakes/rivers in Central NY or the Catskills region. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

Not necessarily the Catskills, but the Deleware river in the area from Hancock on down is pretty nice. Lots of pay for camping available, but you'd probably have to set that up in advance. Not sure whats there for free camping. The Susquehanna is another decent river to consider. As far as lake trips and camping, theres pretty much a state park somewhere along every one of the finger lakes. Farther north in the dacks, Old Forge is a great paddle destination, Fulton chain of lakes, and tons of others up there, plus campsites seem to be everywhere.
