Karate Monkey history

When did the KM first come out and have they ever changed the geometry? Any other major changes or anything I should know looking at used ones? Thanks! :thumbsup:

Feb 17th 2003 I built mine, I think. Maybe March.

No changes, just colors. They added monkey nuts in the box later. Not sure of any other details that changed.

Yep, came out early 2003, Camp Stove Green. IIRC, Martini first posted pics of a prototype he rode back in late 2002. I built mine up in October 2003. And as Cloxxki said, only the colors (and the Monkey Nuts, which I sure wish I had) have changed since.

Chainstays changed?

Wasn't there a slight change in the chainstay design? Thicker walled tubing or some such thing? Seems I read something of that nature when a broken chainstay issue came up here on the forum with someones KM.
