Since the APache is discontinued seems like a good idea to purchase a backup. Does the K2 rep on here know if the one on the attached website will work for the Apache?

Hanger # 56

Tron,

The Apache uses the same hanger style and part number (K2 # RK011) as many other past, current and future K2 Bike models. There shouldn't be any need to stock up on the OEM hanger at this time, and I'm sure that Wheels Manufacturing will continue to offer their version, as seen on www.derailleurhanger.com as # 56. I have not personally attempted to use this hanger on an Apache, but it should work.

I have never bent a hangar but it seems like people do with enough frequency that they carry spares on their rides. Makes me think it will come to me someday. I might get one to keep in my garage just in case.

Btw, I love the apache. sorry to see it go off the line after such a short run.

Iron Horse bikes took over the proflex/K2 parts line.

Last time I ordered they had plenty at $11 ea., quite a bargain.
