I hear ya. On the bike stand, on my truck...I'm a few years deep too.MrOrange said:Those are rear stay cals from the Trek era. True Tempers went on the front of the seat tube down by the bb. Collected over yearsandyearsandyears. I'll try and get pics of more cals. I hava lot. Also all over muh toolbox. The best place IMHO.![]()
I knew it was a Santa Cruz frame 'cuz the previous owner ordered it from there. He didn't front any paperwork, but his word was good enough. If you knew him (Guitar Ted), you'd believe him too...just not a bad bone in his body. Anyhoo, I thought I remembered seeing a downtube decal on one or more bikes. She isn't wearing anything anymore!!MrOrange said:Dose were on the Trek-made Bont-ragers. So I guess that makes your 96 Race an original Santa (clause) Cruz.![]()
you should do it and sell em to the hardcores here I would be down for a set fo sure. I also need the true temper seat-tube stickers, were these put on santa cruz tragers or only the bontrekers? Come on kick down brother!!!!!MrOrange said:Yeah, I wish I had some of those . . .Bontrager made in Santa Cruz decals. Round and Black or White ink on clear vinyl . . .A perfect repro opportunity. Simple to do.
Oddly enough...a lot of mine came from bike swaps. I bought a box of some 300+ old decals for $5 bucks... It was amazing.MrOrange said:This is cool. Let the sticker show begin. More soon. We could have sticker swap on the side of a bike swap someday.![]()

No way, the rastas are the bestest. Are you sure I can't ask? I got a couple of large Bontrager shirts that I never wear. One worn once or twice, the other a bit more.Rumpfy said:Cool!
The True Temper decals and what looks to be fork crown decals are the stand outs IMO.
That's a fine collection. I'm a decal fan myself...how did you come upon all of those? Collecting over time, or all at once?
The only Bontrager that were not made in Santa Cruz were the Privateers, Ti Lite and BMX bikes. Privateers and BMX were built in Wisconsin, and the Ti frames were contracted out.loonyOne said:I knew it was a Santa Cruz frame 'cuz the previous owner ordered it from there.
