my opinion is its not a good idea to buy the bike then ask a forum's opinion about it...that's just me though. good luck
Just picked up a '09 Fuel EX 6.5
I have not ridden it at all yet (Just got it today). I have heard good things about it. I am just curious to hear other people's opinion about this bike.

what does it matter if I bought the bike? I am not asking if I should have bought it, I am just asking what people think about it. Jeez, If I knew this forum was so hostile I would never have posted.

I pretty much had my heart set on a ex6.5 as i felt i simply couldn't justify the cost of the ex7 or ex8.
So i went to the lbs to purchase the ex6.5.
The sales bloke also setup a ex 7 for me after the ex6.5 test ride.
I bought the ex7.
The difference was pretty dramatic.
The ex7 felt a lot lighter and more responsive, the shock and forks felt a lot smoother and the ABP was not just the gimmick i thought it was it really worked.
I then rode the ex8 and it did feel slightly better than the ex7 but the differences were extremely subtle compared to the ex6.5/ex7 comparison.
I know you have to set a limit and we all have to justify the costs of the bikes to ourselves, but my advice is.
Leave it a few months till the prices drop and buy the ex7.

I actually tested out the ex7 at the shop but they did not have the right size in stock. The ex6.5 was on sale and I was on a supertight budget. I think I got a pretty good deal and I expect a couple of good years of riding ot of the ex6.5 before I upgrade.

If you want, check out the reviews of the EX-6.5 on the site. A nice big gathering of opinions, if you ask me! :thumbsup:
EDIT: It seems as if they only have the EX-6 on here...hmm. But, the Fuel EX series of bikes is AWESOME! I have heard nothing but good things about them. This is why I have a Fuel EX-8...
