They seem to be in-line price wise as everyone else.$$$ and no availabilty ever since that happened (even pre-covid) so I gave up and got some Shimanos. They're almost as sticky and they fit my feet better.
I want to give them a good try, but Specialized shoes just don’t work with my feet.Think that happened around 2014. Pretty much every small company that's achieved major success has been bought out by a larger company from outside the bike industry. Options have gone up, quality has gone down, but s1 is still the compound all others are compared to. Specialized was the first company to solve the rubber riddle so they don't have a lock on sticky anymore. I no longer look to 5.10. Not because of adidas, I just find spec shoes better made.
I find my roosts to be too wide in the toe box for my taste but I have narrow feet. Bontrager supposedly makes wider than average shoes, but I'm not sold on vibram compounds. I'll always consider future 5.10 shoes they just aren't my go to anymore.I want to give them a good try, but Specialized shoes just don’t work with my feet.
I have a wide foot and they are sized way too narrow for me.
For me, Five Ten for mountain and Shimano wide sized clipless shoes for road/gravel.
No REI nearby and maybe now they're in line since everything's sky high. Back in the good ole days I'd shop the Five Ten clearance and get good stuff for $30-60.They seem to be in-line price wise as everyone else.
I’ve also never had an issue buying them. Matter of fact, when I went on a MTB trip last month and I forgot my Freerider Pros, like an idiot, I was able to walk into REI and grab another pair right off the shelf.
I never seem to catch the sales and/or the ones I catch on the Adidas website exclude their bike specific shoes. Still wanna try some Freerider Pros or the recently added Trailcross with the Goretex, but not about to pay $100+ for any shoe if there are other options out there (there always are).I wait until they are on sale, last time there was a good one I got 2 pairs of Freeriders for $60/each.
I ordered this insulated model a few days ago for $119.99, regularly $150.Yeah, I'm seeing $70-$75... I paid $100 for mine early this year for Freeriders.
Prices are not out of line and I got a pair of 5/10s with no wait during Covid. I've seen riding friends who swore by Shimano have their shoes self-destruct in one season.$$$ and no availabilty ever since that happened (even pre-covid) so I gave up and got some Shimanos. Your opinion is noted. $100+ for shoes (the goretex are almost $200).Prices are not out of line and I got a pair of 5/10s with no wait during Covid. I've seen riding friends who swore by Shimano have their shoes self-destruct in one season.
