Well, it took a couple of long weeks to get it back and it was well worth the wait. I'll be putting it back together over the next couple of weeks. Some new parts, some old parts will go on it. (2003 M1)

I did the "all black" thing (see last pic below) for the past 4 years and I wanted to change it up a bit with the silver. I've got some parts that I'm getting anodized red, including the rocker-link. Those will hopefully get done next week. I also picked up a sticker set because I'm not a big fan of the bare frame look.

When it's done, I'll post up the pixs. For now, I thought I'd share these with you all. (Sorry for the poor photo quality, I used my cell phone camera.)

It was 180 with tax and all. It would have been about 150 but the original paint was so tough that they had to strip it totally by hand. It's also got a tough layer of clear over the powder coat.

NICE! Any ideas on how much the PC added to the frame weight? I am sure it's not much, but since you have the frame disassembled, have you weighed it?

That build is going to look sick!
Congrats!

Yeah, I just need to be carefull not to over-do the red. It'll be silver, red, and black.

Thanks. It was black before so I'd imagene it didn't add too much since the black was totally stripped before repainting. Though now it is powder coated, and clear coated as well. Honestly I've never weighed any of my bikes. For one I have no scale, and two I've never worried about weight all that much. I'm not good enough to worry about weight. I'm sure it'll be in the mid to upper 40's.

When it's done, I'll have the bike shop weigh it for me.

Taking the "bits" to the anodizer either on Tues. or Wed. Then I've got to get the bearings pressed back into the frame, new tires put on. Hopefully have built pics up in a few weeks.

Oh, and those 823's are freaking hott!!!

BTW, I designed your Jedi log, and repurposed the down-tube Canfield logo for Chris and Lance. Also, did the Can-Diggle and Can-Can logos as well. :) Although they didn't pick my favorite Jedi logo, Oh well.

I got my tires put on the wheels last night. THAT was fun! LOTs of soapy water to make it happen.

I ran Maxxis Minions (60 duro) for the last 4 years but got a killer deal on the Kenda Nevagales (sticky with DH casing) at Velo swap for 20 bones a peice. Figured I'd give them a try for that price.

I feel better now that the tires are on . . . . the rims don't look so freaking red, and shinny.

That looks really good!I found a red M1 complete with a Dorrado fork, never raced and has literally several rides on it for a screaming deal if I want it.after seeing your powder coating,I'm tempted. the M1 is a timeless DH bike.
