Just picked up my first bike, 05 Trek Hardtail 6500. I got it for $524 without the disc breaks. They had one there with disc breaks for $699. I think for a beginner like me, I really didn't need it, yet.

I think you made the right decision.

I'll bet those are disc ready wheels. When you're ready, you'll be able to find Avid mechanical discs for not much more than $100.

There disc ready. I'll shop around in a couple of months for them.

I'll be hitting the trials this Saturday while the wife is at the Mariah Carey concert. Thank god I got this bike.
