A little xposty...

Loaded up Thursday morning and set camp in the dark; woke up here:

After charging up on some fresh caffeine from the french press we slogged up Cottonwood Pass...

Then up and over Engineer Pass...

Could you imagine taking a sh!t there? Talk about performance anxiety!

The following morning we saciated our need for eggs, green chili, chorizo and potatoes. Oh and more coffee.

Then on to revisit the location of my former commute.

Later, in search of a shuttle we landed ourselves at an undisclosed location along the Animas where we shared in adult redehydration and conversation. We then scheduled a ride up with the fine folks at Hermosa Tours the following morning to Kennebec Pass.

Kindly they drove us here and we cruised on back to town...

Scrubby you were in our thoughts:

It appears I need a new tire. What is the best tire for the Front Range?

We took the more pedestrian route home and were delighted by the moody clouds looming over the Sangre de Cristos, low angle light and refracted/reflected/refracted light caught in baby precipitation bombs.

His icegeekiness at work

...I really don't know how I get by.

Calcium chloride...

Don't use search and start a separate thread

By riding, by taking photos, by eating delicious, nutritious breakfasts, by riding, by climbing mountains, by french pressing coffee, by riding and by redehydrating after riding.

Where's Nickle?

Nice pictures. I have no idea where you guys were (without loooking it up) but it looks fantastic.

I'd skip the Chorizo is it is too early but after 10 AM, I'm game. Tires- I find the Schwalbe Albert and Fat Albert to be the best rear tires. The Nobby Nic and Specialized Eskar follow and are faster (lighter too) but not as grippy in loose or wet.

I was in Lake of the Ozarks getting my boating on, but I'm wishing I had been there. Darn these couples biking retreats. Don't they understand the value of a good third wheel? I have a job to do, people. :p

Athalliah, those are absolutely fantastic shots. I am completely jealous of the scenery you and the frothy snowman witnessed, but am quite happy that you at least had the courtesy to unsheathe the camera in an effort to provide a reprieve for us pathetic mortals confined to our production chambers for 8 hour of abuse. Thanks.

Oh. So nice. Those pics transport me from the steamy still air that I'm breathing down here. I can almost taste the mountain air.
I served a 16 year sentence in Florida; I was released on good behavior. :p

We really don't have enough threads addressing the issue.
