Ok...I know this is'nt really mountain bike related...but I've had enough people asking for info so here it is-July's ride is coming up in two weeks...so you have plenty of time to make plans and get those bikes ready-check out sjbikeparty.org for more details and info...but for the most part-what type of bike should you take? anything with two wheels (maybe one or three if you want) that you feel you can ride for at least 30 miles at a relaxed pace. Who should go and what type of people are there? Anyone who wants to have fun should go and while theyre are some A**holes who may show up there (usually younger peeps who just are young and stupid...we all were once though were'nt we?) ...remember there will be ALOT of people on bikes...to be expected and for the most part-the good outweigh the bad and most people are there just to have fun as well as people who line up outside on the sidewalk to watch and give support-How should one dress up? Well the theme is Deity-but they say to think of Roman gods and goddesses?---TOGA! but keep in mind not to wear something thats going to get stuck in your chain or wheels and cause you to crash-or just wear shorts and a t-shirt-weather should be GREAT! Plan on being out late friday night so get your beauty rest all week for those of you who like to sleep early-The Route will not be made public till the evening of the 15th...so until then sounds like may be in Santa Clara this time around-hopefully we can ride together and meetup at the break points to regather if we loose some people. They're saying route is flat for the most part so bring out your wife, girlfriends, husbands whatever...excellent reason to do something bike related with your loved one.

I'll be pulling Rolling Thunder once again and would be great to have some support-so hopefully all those that showed up last time will come again, those who just did'nt see the post in time will see this one and those who were on the fence about showing up...read last months afterthoughts of first timers....everyone had fun! So to my new friends I met yesterday in Pleasant Hill-East Bay Riders-Hope to see some of you here in San Jose for a night of fun and bike riding through the streets of San Jose! J we need you! and Francois-won't you lead us with your bike so bright? Lets do this people! Grease Meat-I expect you there-your Tomac will be just fine! Dion and One_Speed I hope to see you both again as well-Bike Partay!!!

It's on the calendar

I'm planning to check it out this month. The coverage of the last one sure raised my level of interest. The tunes sounded great at the PH Parade but I really need to see the lights at night!

sparkyJ-glad to hear! Music is very different than what was played at the parade though...a lil rock, hip-hop, old school, a lil disco and some newer dance music-I kept the music very 'family' friendly at the parade-people at bike party are looking for music to keep them grooving and moving...so music is definately different-just F.Y.I. but hope that does'nt keep you from joining us-would be great to have you come along-and yes not only the lights on Rolling Thunder but make sure to feel free to light up your own ride as many people put lots of time into decorating their bikes as well as themselves!

We shall be there! I'll be flying in from Dallas that afternoon, so the plan is to ralley it up, come home, hop on the bikes and GO. No BMX this time, I'm bringing my 7-speed utility bike to chill.

Yeah one of my favs as well-sounds good! I've found the longer songs get a lil stale-so I try to keep songs at about 4 minutes long now-otherwise they have too many breaks and since I'm not mixing them-i try to keep them short-although the first time I had this great mix but had opposite problem-songs only played for about a minute and people wanted to hear more of the song-either way just thought I'd share that with you-

Would like to point out that hyland bikes in san jose offers a bike party discount-they have some cool stuff-I think 10% off everything except bikes when you mention bike party-and bicycle express near sjsu-owner chuck is a really nice guy who knows a lot about old school schwinns and really a generous guy with great prices-he supports bike party as well as well as doing the rides-
