Another boring tyre question (sorry, not the Ti Jones...)

I remember reading bout people using the Jones XR Front tyre on the rear, but I can't find any old posts about it using the search function.

I'm wondering wich direction I should run it - same as the front, or reversed? Does it matter?

I've seen Guitar Ted post about running a front Bontrager XR tire on the rear for dirt road duty in the Trans Iowa (both run in the same "front" direction).

I did it for racing, before faster tires came out. Cut the lugs in half too. Forget about mud traction, but it definately rolled better on sandy trails.
