....We've got a little political battle brewing over Mobbs Farm access. If you wouldn't mind dropping me a PM I'll get the info to you about what's up and who to write to.

Other Mobbs riders - thanks for the interest but for now it looks like residents will give us the best platform to speak from. Thanks.

I imagine this has to do with pthe parking situatation on Fitzsimmonds road......

FYI-I grew up in Jericho and I know that parking and traffic on Fitzsimmonds is a problem.

PLEASE for those who drive there constantly, park on the Green in Jericho Center! Its really close by!

Right..this is part of the issue and a good suggestion. But more than that there's a movement afoot to ban or restrict biking @ Mobbs. The Selectboard & Conservation Commission need to hear from resident users of the trail. Another facet of the opposition concern is that it's become a MTB "mecca". Although popular, this is far from reality. The point is that non-resident users WON'T HELP the situation by writing in. We just need resident users @ this point. Thanks.

I'm a little confused why the new parking at the town garage off of Browns trace hasn't been advertised more? Wouldn't that alleviate some of the Fitzsimonds tension? I haven't seen a car parked there yet. I went for a walk on those trails the other night and it doesn't look like they have seen any mtb action.

It hasn't been advertised because the trail from it to the system hasn't been built yet. The reason for that is the Town process that would have allowed the lot & trail to be built has been derailed and the project is stalled. Irate neighbors are a major factor.

At this point it's in all our best interests to not agravate the situation - so staying away from that lot is probably the best idea. The Fellowship is rallying to alleviate the situation but it won't happen overnight. Appreciate your interest and patience.

Great...thanks for the info and explanation. I was just assuming that the mowed path was the mtb path. I'll stay away until there is a remedy.

The reason I like the browns trace parking lot is that it is easy to unload my ATV at that spot (ha...just kidding)
