Jay Peak area riding

I will be going up to Jay peak the end of May and was wondering what trails are nearby to ride. I've never been up there so I'm not sure of the type of terrain to expect. I'm assuming it will be somewhat rocky. If anyone has some suggestions for some good trails to hit up let me know. Thanks.

Biking Opportunities

Jay Peak's nearest town is Montgomery. Check with these guys: http://www.firsttrax.net/ They are the local bike shop and big on bikes. There are some limited trails.

Jay Peak no longer offers lift service and I'm not sure of their cross country ski trails... I think. But, you'll be right there so check with them: http://www.jaypeakresort.com/

About 1/2 hour away is one of my favorite places. Bromont, Quebec is a major bike "resort" with lift service and cross country trails. Check out: http://www.skibromont.com/en/velo-accueil.asp See the trailmap. I've found the downhill people are accepting even for those with a hardtail XC. They have national bike races here each year.

Of course, there is Kingdom Trails. Kingdom Trails: singletrack XC heaven. Read up on it here on these boards and trail reviews. See: http://www.kingdomtrails.com/

There is a 26 mile long rail-to-trail bed with crushed gravel in East Berkshire, which is next to Montgomery.

I hope this gets you started.

Brian.
