Hey, I'm trying to decide between the Jamis Portal A1 & A2. I have heard a lot of good things about the A2 for it's price. Having a hard time finding comparisons of the 2 and was wondering if the $1000 upgrade for the A1 would be worth it?
I mostly ride single track in the Midwest and make it out west a couple times a year.

If you can spring the extra cash I would definitely go with the A1. The upgraded components are definitely worth it and its more cost efficient to do it from the get go, rather than upgrading it later...the step up to XT components and the fox suspension would be worth it to me.

I agree! They are closing out their 2019 bikes so if 11spd is enough for you, you can get a deal there. I decided to go with the updated frame (and still grabbing Shimano 12spd) of the C3 (has Fox suspension as well.)
