Hey guys got a build going on, and am considering getting Jagwires ripcord in a custom color. Before i was considering getting Srams Flak Jacket, does any one know if there is a major difference between the two? QBP isnt the best source of information, and i am surfing the web for info at the moment, comparisons and expereinces welcome

from what is know they are basically the same. both compressionless housing(derailuer style housing) with kevlar wrap. i have used ripcord myself and like it better than the normal coil type brake housing

FWIW- the parent company of JagWire has been supplying Sram with their better cable kits for a number of years. There might be minor differences, but basically it's the same stuff from the same factory.
Thats fantastic info guys, what about weather resistance, i installed a flack jacket kit just recently and i was impressed with all of the things to seal the der. cables. they are on a friends chameleon he doesnt really clean the bike much, and after six months of use, they are still pristine. So i am fairly impressed, what about jagwire?

I'm not sure what ferrules Flak Jackets come with, but the JagWire kits come with stepped ferrules which help keep water out.
