Howdy all,

Need some advice/suggestions for replacement cranks for my FC-M8050 cranks - 165 mm. In the span of about 6 months I've managed to bend my cranks twice, one seemed reasonable - tagged my crank on the ground at higher speed (don't pedal when corning 🤯) but this time I barely tagged the side of a fallen tree at probably less than 8 km/h and bender-rooney.
I am aware that my options may be limited due to the fact that it's an ebike, but yeah hit me with your suggestions.

Ebike cranks? Maybe get something shorter like 150-160mm, they’ll be less likely to hit the ground and more resistant to bending. If you’re heavier than 300#, it goes without saying … 🙄

They put cranks on ebikes?

Sorry, couldn't resist...if you're bending Shimano, you'll likely bend most non-DH level stuff. See if a Zee/Saint or other burly crank will fit? Sorry, dunno anything about ebike fitment.

And stop running into stuff. At some point it won't just be the equipment that gets hurt.

FWIW no, one can't typically put a mountain bike crank on an ebike. Not on a quality ebike designed for a dedicated motor. If this is the case OP, you'll probably be forced to replace the crank with another OEM crank.

I could be wrong. My Trek Rail has a Bosch CX motor with E-13 cranks. So I'm speculating a bit but this I know: the spindle is specific to the ebike because of its integration with the motor. Good luck.

No, ebikes have a different offset, so sometimes there's crossover, I was able to get a good fit with Miranda on a Shimano drive, special order from Spain precovid.

Since ebikes tend to get pedaled more through corners and chunk, and because you don’t need much leverage, I’d go with 150mm; that’s what I put in my wife’s Shuttle.
