To make it easy, tell me which date works for YOU and your crew...

See the OTHER thread for pros and cons, and/or add yours here.

So I voted for the first weekend but if it comes down to GITA happening on the second weekend then maybe I'll pony up the extra vacation day and push my trip back one week. If nothing else, I am flexible :p

My vote's in for the second weekend, although I think that's still gonna be too early for prime Fall colors. If I'm in town that weekend, I'l certainly tag along and help out where I'm able.

I thought about the color issue, but it seems, at least in my memory - the colors always kick in WAY earlier than I think they will... especially in SF and Taos.

But the other influence was temps! It can be pretty comfy mid-September, with little chance for snow - whereas a few weeks later we might be riding in snow!

Eh. I must be getting old and lame :D.

I'm betting it involves a midwestern semi-pro football team that wears blue jerseys and really lame, old-school helmet graphics.

I voted for the 7-8-9. I have my reasons which none of you will understand.

Any decisions yet on the weekend to hold GITA?
Looks like it will be the latter - the 15th / 16th weekend.

Hope your plans can fit it in! I guarantee THESE rides will be wicked fun, and completely devoid of Locust Plant bushwhacking!

Um, yes. There was a good discussion of the merits of doing it the same weekend - or the following one. See the "other" GITA thread and chime in!

We're hoping for some DBT survivors to come show us lesser mortals a bit of other stuff in and around SBT.

Thanks - this helps me plan my vacation. Yea, they at work seem to want to know when I'll be gone. I will be visiting Itty Bitty Betty Jen and her guy Jesper in Boulder the week before. Who knows, maybe I can convince JnJ to follow me to NM at the end of the week!
