The Grinch Grinder will take place on Xmas Eve day (the 24th) at 10am at a location to be announced (weather, moisture dependent), but top contenders for best trail conditions include Devil's Backbone/Blue Sky, Ginny Trail, and Hall Ranch. Just a ride to celebrate the Christmas Spirit (or escape from it), not a race, just an opportunity to freeze your toes and hang out with like-minded individuals who would rather ride bikes and get frostbite with near-strangers than hang out with their families.
All are welcome, but bonus points for Santas, Elves, Cindy-Lou Whos, Reindeer sweaters, ect.

Sounds like fun. I might actually drag the bike down from the rafters and join in. I know where Hall is, but where are the other two possible trails? Another possibility is North Table Mountain. Not much snow and there are more trails up and around there than you might think. We'd need to park and start in Golden, but I can show you how to put together a pretty decent loop up there.

I have a SS running, but fear the legs and lungs will not be up to the challenge. However, I think I can get the Moots back on the trail this weekend. Keep us posted on location.

Any Denver area folks interested in doing our own (more local) version of this? I'd be willing to throw on the snow tires and try to find a local frozen trail...

How accessible is this trailhead for FTH (from the house) riders, considering one's house is in Fort Collins?

All depends on how far you want to ride.... you'd have to go up around horsetooth and back down into masonville to get to the trailhead. Completely doable. Personally, although Larimer county is my favorite stomping grounds I'll be coming from Westminster.
