my wife has a 07 rockhopper and I was thinking of buying this for her

is this a good upgrade. When she tried my bike she really liked the brakes so I been trying to look into those for her. She also does some xc races as a beginner. once she gets more serious into it I plan on buying a new frame and moving everything over so I want something worth transferring to a better frame as well. Thanks in advance

I can't comment on the brakes but XT/Rhynolite wheels are bomb proof, I've been using a set for a couple of years (non centerlock though) and I'm a hell of a lot heavier than your wife (at least I hope I am)

Their only downside is they're pretty heavy so probably not the best if she races, figure on the wheels themselves being worth $150 (cambriabike sell xt/rhyno wheelsets for that).

Don't know how much the brakes will run you on their own.
