From what I understand, a direct mount stem prevents the front wheel from getting misaligned with the handlebar. Is there a general term used to describe the category of stems which are *not* direct mount? Is there any reason *not* to use a DM stem? I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the following DM stem:

You need to have a fork compatible with direct mount. This is usually triple crown forms on DH bikes...
