I am getting a ticking noise from the front end of my 04 NRS1. I cant seem to track it down whilst riding and it happens whether i'm pedaling or not. Assuming its not actually a bomb can anyone suggest what it could be.

it could be the cables tapping the frame. check the seatpost. I thought I heard ticking coming from the front but it was in fact the seatpost.

Thanks

I have also been told by a mate that it could well be the seatpost - the sound gets amplified by the top tube. I am now reading the threads about the shim and 30.9 alternatives

The end of the cable that goes into the shifters may be squeeking. If it's very dry, they can make a clicking/ticking noise, even with very slight handlebar motion. I sprayed the ends with silicone, noise went away.

On the NRS, the seapost should always be the first suspect. It's hard to make it quiet for long without a lot of grease.
