Try either letting tap water stand in it for a day or two, depending on you level of chlorine, or use a small amount of bleach in a full bag (usually as per directions from Camelbak). Some people never like the taste, either...

The funny taste just comes with the plastic used to make the CamelBak. It never goes away completely. I guess there is no such thing as a really flexible/durable plastic that does not add a funny taste to water. I just use Gatorade.

Liquid cascade

I just use a little liquid cascade or whatever type of machine dishwashing detergent we have. These detergents are basically bleach with a mild soap mixed in. It will clean the bladder very well and with the lemon scented brands they really help with the tast.

I was telling my brother about my algae inhibiting water bladder and how it tasted like *ss for the first little while but it doesn't bother me any more and he says, and now you've acquired a taste for it. Ha ha.

I let it set with baking soda and warm water in it for a day and ran it through the hose a couple of times, that seemed to help quite a bit. Thanks for the suggestions.
