Maybe, but probably not.

You should not use the small/small combo in any case, and usually not use the smaller half of the cassette with the small ring.

Your pics show why SRAM recommends long cage RDs with triple cranks.

I'd never use small/small just that I thought maybe take off a few more links. Yeah I used to have the long cage. Maybe I'll throw my long cage onto this bike and put this on my FS bike.

Yeah, you'll wanna keep the long cage on the triple crank. Long cage derailleur has more chain take up to prevent that from happening.
