Thank you
Well, my daddy left home
When I was three
And he didn't leave very much to my ma and me
Except this ole guitar and
An empty bottle of booze
Now I don't blame him
'Cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that my daddy ever did
Was before he left he wanted to
Name me Sue
He musta thought
That it was quite a joke
And it got a lot of laughs from lots a folks
Seems I had to fight my whole life through
Some gal would giggle and I'd turn red
And some guy'd laugh and I'd bust his head
I'll tell ya, life ain't easy for a boy named Sue
Well, I grew up quick and I grew up mean
My fist got hard and my wits got keen
Roamed from town to town
To hide my shame
But I made me a vow to the moon and stars
I'd search the honky-tonks and bars
And kill that man that gave
Me that awful name
Well, it was Gatlinburg in mid-July
And I'd just hit town and my throat was dry
I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew
At an old saloon on a street of mud
There at a table dealin' stud
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me Sue
Well I knew that snake was my own sweet dad
From a worn out picture that my mother had
Knew that scar on
His cheek and his evil eye
He was big and bent and grey and old
And I looked at him and my
Blood ran cold, and I said
"My name is Sue! How do you do?
Now you gonna die!"
Well, I hit him hard right
Between the eyes
And he went down but to my surprise
Came up with a knife and
Cut off a piece of my ear
Then I busted a chair right across his teeth
And we crashed through
The wall and into the street
Kickin' and a gougin' in the mud
And the blood and the beer
Well I tell ya, I've fought tougher men
But I really can't remember when
He kicked like a mule and
He bit like a crocodile
I heard him laugh and
Then I heard him cuss
And he reached for his gun but
I pulled mine first
He stood there lookin' at me and
I saw him smile
And he said
"Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make
It he's gotta be tough
And I know I wouldn't be
There to help you along
So I gave you that name
And I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's that name that helped
To make you strong."
He said, "Now you just fought
One heck of a fight
And I know you hate me
And ya got the right
To kill me now and I wouldn't
Blame you if you do
But you oughta thank me before I die
For the gravel in your gut
And the spit in the eye
'Cause I'm the -
That named you Sue."
Yeah, what could I do?
I got all choked up and threw down my gun
Called him my pa and he called me his son
And I came away with a
Different point of view
And I think about him now and then
Every time I try and every time I win
And if I ever have a boy
I'll name him
Bill or George or Frank
Anything dam thing but Sue!
Hate that name

thats a classic one calling pink as "salmon", as its OK for a "real" man to use salmonm, but pink is nay - lmao

i love the part about the minister, that is really funny.
the sticker with the name and the pink elephant is brilliant

i really loved the pink so much i ought to powedercoat my bike in some shade of rose :D

It's a Salsa Timberjack, and you got straight to the point.

When I bought it, the salesperson said it was "Salmon". When I received the bike, it was pretty much pink. I ended up picking it, and I'll explain why.

In Brazil's (where I come from) government there's a minister who's a woman, and in one of her speeches she said that boys should wear blue, and girls should wear pink. So I accepted the bike and named it after the minister: "Delirium Damaris". Graphics are a homage to the belgian brewery, Delirium.

Salmon's just a shade of pink.. and who cares anyway? ;)

ride/do what you like.

Oh and yes, women's bikes (and shoes, etc, etc) get the best colors.

As was said in one of the very first responses, some of the better manufacturers are doing female specific shock tunes and some things like that, which actually could be beneficial for you unless you're a huge 15 y/o. Otherwise it definitely doesn't matter if the bike fits you.

I know my bike does not come in a mens/womens just size. When I think of a bike that is a womens specific its more in the comfort style bikes. Like my mom has a Specialized Roll low entry. like others said, if it fits ride it.

I know this is a ridiculous question, but I'll cut straight to the chase. I'm 15 years old and I just found out the bike I've taking out on trails and greenways is a women's bike. Is that generally acceptable in the mtb community or would it be frowned upon? Lol
One of my buddies rides a Liv because after riding a bunch of bikes it fit him best. Usually "Womens" bikes are the same as "men's" bikes but with different paint and sometimes a different seat or grips.

If you are happy with the bike don't sweat the small stuff.

If it bothers you that much you can always have it wrapped and nobody will know what's under the wrap because they are almost always the exact same parts with different paint and decals.

No such thing as a women's bike. There are bikes marketed towards women but nothing precludes a man from riding that bike. Males are females all share the same interface points with a bike. hands, fingers, feet, butt, legs. All that matters is if the bike fits you and you are comfortable riding it.
Indeed. Seats are one of the few spots where things are significantly different. Wider sit-bones and whatnot.

Even so, it's a cheap swap out if it bugs you.

It's not pink, it's light red.

Seriously, why is pink considered a separate color while light blue, light green, etc. are just shades? Maybe is has something to do with body parts?

Used to be that girls' bikes had more standover room, now all the Enduro Bros are wanting traditional mixte/girl style frames to enable longer dropper posts

They all have names. Lavender, Mint, Orchid, Violet, Chartreuse, Mauve... Salmon... it's not just a fish anymore.
True, though pink seems to always be used for light red whereas the others aren't commonly used. Except violet, which is a mix of red and blue leaning more toward red rather than a tint of the basic colors.

When I was in college, another student created a design using pink and the professor commented negatively on the color he had chosen. Someone asked him "you don't like pink?". He replied "I like it in certain places".

Ride what you've got.

I grew up in a pretty poor family, all of my bikes until I bought my own were either pink or purple hand-me-downs from my older sister. And that was good enough for me, I still jumped them off sketchy ramps just the same as the kids whose parents bought them the coolest bikes.

That said if anyone makes fun of you just tell them that you borrowed it from their girlfriend. But make sure you can ride faster than them first

‘When was I high school and outgrew my 24” 10 speed I just rode my mom’s old bike with coaster brakes everywhere and sometimes backwards. Had a blast, might not have been cool :)
