hey y'all
what's up
first time posting here and thought i'd ring it in with one of those "what bike should i get" threads...
so anyways, i'm looking to get "back into" XC riding, as i use to do this a while back, and then came along university and urban life on rollerblades and hence the hiatus. now i'm just looking for a bike that's light, good quality, affordable, durable, responsive and one that i can grow with in terms of knowledge, skill etc.
i've been looking and test riding:
rocky mountain element 10
SC FSR XC Comp
giant trance 3
GF cake 3 deluxe
cannondale rush 400
in complete honesty, all the bikes i have rode "feel" the same, more or less. give or take. yanno with the shifters, gears, shocks etc. i haven't had too much experience with dual suspension, so i'm kinda learning on the fly... but most of them are similarly equipped so maybe that has something to do with it...
but out of all i'm leaning towards the element 10, it felt good, nice fit in terms of arm length, responsive in terms of handling etc. like a lean mean biking machine. plus i think the dude at the shop calibrated things right cuz the shox esp the rear was smoooth. hehe. also frame and wheels hand built in canada by some guy named jeremy? nice one...
so what do u all think? obviously this is the most openended question ever and of course it has to do with what i feel and how i ride and what i want etc etc but thought i'd throw this out there... plus the guy's cutting me a deal at 1799CAD so not too sure if i should jump on it... but the others can be negotiated as well.
posting on an RM forum of course you're playing with fire :skep: , but unbiased objective opinions appreciated!!
cheers!
