iPhone users- best cycling apps?

882 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  seeds82
Wondering which cycling apps other iPhone users are running. I'm not into the training side of things, just want something that will track the ride and offer a simple way of creating maps of the rides. Would prefer altitude/elevation info, time and distance. Also, being able to make/receive calls or use other apps without shutting down the cycling app would be a big bonus. So what's everyone using and how do you like it? (I doubt there's anything out yet specific for the 3GS, but that's what I'm using, if it matters.)

And yeah, I tried to search to see if this has been covered already, but the search feature is apparently down.

I use an app called Trails. It tracks your ride, elevation, time, etc.
Apps and more

Besides the app Trailguru, the best thing I picked up is the Otterbox Defender water resistant case. After breaking two phones from falling down or rain, I have my new 3G tightly wrapped in the double protection Otter Box.

Cheap on ebay.
I have yet to find one that will allow you to run other applications.

I use either of these, just depends: TheBike, Trailguru, or GPSLite.

There will not be anything specifis to the 3GS as it is not any different than the 3G, except in video, campass, and memory.
Bike Dashboard works on my Omnia. GPS, elevation, speed, the works. It's free, I'm not sure if it's ported to the iphone.

i would love to have a new 3g S but i would snap an i phone in half in no time. and i couldn't afford the monthly bill and biking so i chose biking. and i went with a Casio GzOne through verizon i can take this thing anywhere! the shower every morning, rain mud, anywhere! i drop it at least 5 times a day lol i love it but it doesn't do anything cool at all lol

Its a modern form of communication. It would be like the tin cans and string method used in MS, but with a kimputer device attached.
