The editor app I use on the iphone 4 (think its on the ipad also) called "splice" is super easy to use.
this entire vid was shot and edited on the iphone 4 using splice
Also I watched life cycles on my friends ipad and it was crystal clear.

I spent some time in an Apple store playing with an iPad. I viewed a few of my vimeo vids to compare to how I know they look on my MBP and iMac, and the quality really was great. They loaded fast (a function of the wifi) and played smoothly. Some credit here to vimeo supporting non-Flash videos. There's definitely one in my future, though I will be curious to see the actual specs that will be announced on Wed. I was excited over the rumors of a near-Retina display resolution, but that rumor sounds like it's getting tamped down.

Video looks awesome on the iPad and battery life is also great. You are wise to wait until v2 comes out.

+1 for splice.

Yes, you can watch YouTube videos on them - just not ay-blowme Flash based stuff on other sites.
