Introduction and a question

Hello all,

I am new to the site, and fairly new to the Austin/ Round Rock area. I was wondering if there are any other trails (single or double) besides Walnut Creek and the Greenbelt that people enjoy Mtn. biking at? I recently rode out at Jim Hogg Park and it was pretty fun. Anyone been out there? Thanks to anyone who replies in advance!

austinbike.com is a great site for austin area trails. bikemojo.com has a lot of discussion about local rides/trails/etc. Check them out.
Thanks.... Ill make sure to check them out.
You can, of course, also check out MountainBikeTx.com. Be sure to check out the Trails Googlemap to find out just what is nearby and what might make a nice day trip.
I just rode overlook to hogg last weekend; i still find it a brutal ride. The next 3 trails going north would approx be BLORA and Dana Peak in the Ft Hood metro, and Cameron up in Waco. Like Chris said--jump on Mojo--have fun.

I used to be stationed in Ft. Hood. What do you do there?
I'm in charge of the contract (for the contractor, but I liaison closely with DOL) over all the Dining Facilities. Full Food and management in 6 of them, cleanup only in 3 that the military manage. The numbers go up and down depending on how many the military cooks really feel like doing. Basically I have a staff of between 400 and 700 to meet the food service needs of ithe Installation in its troop dining facilities.

Come on guys. We need to do the Texas forum proud. Somebody photoshop his head and welcome him to the world wide web. I'm lacking the skill and software.

I love puppies!

Watch bikemojo.com for ride calls. I usually call a greenbelt ride for sundays; these days with the heat we leave ~8AM.

Welcome. If you ever want to come to the SW area of Austin, let me know and I'll show you some of the trails on this end of town. I mostly ride Muleshoe and Reimers. Occasionally Pedernales Falls. I like Rocky Hill Ranch a lot.
