Has anyone ridden both? I rode a Blur LTc today and was very impressed especially by the way it climbed, but my allegiance has always neen with Intense so I was wondering if anyone on here had ever been able to compare the two?...

Bueller? Beuller?... Any one...

Surely someone must of tried both bikes, being in the same league as each other?

hi
I used to ride on intense bikes for 3 years and changed that year to santa cruz. i rode the m6-951-ss-uzzi-tracer in the intense league and now the v10carbon-nomad c-blur lt.
first of all santa cruz fits me better in sizing. the xl santa cruz line is made for me and I always had problems with intense on the large side. and the spider 2 is maybe a good xc /light trailbike but can not compare to 100% the blur lt. I would say - take the blur lt cause you have more travel with less weight. the nomad c is a pretty awesome bike due to less weight than the tracer but in increased stiffness than ex the uzzi.
If you are looking only for a trailbike the blur lt is awesome but if you wanna push it harder take the nomad c cause it has only 1,5 lbs more than the blur lt but makes more fun.

intense was awesome and I dont wanna say anything bed about intense - but santa cruz is a new experience for me - an awesome one.
Thanks Jack, I rode the Blur LTc yesterday and enjoyed it although it wasn't quite what I was looking for. Getting a demo ride of Intense in the UK is difficult so I'm looking for as much feedback as possible. :)

If you look at the geo charts you'll notice they do overlap so that one brand is bound to be a better fit then the other.
ltc all the way......just got the 2011 with some cb iodine wheels , and all i gotta say is she's a ripper......Point and shoot....Not to mention the new flat black carbon is SICKKKK!!! Shredded a few intense a few years back so as to comparison with todays santa cruz wouldn't be a fair one...Especially with how far carbon has come.......Good luck on your choice bro.....
I went with a Nickel in the end, picking it up next week :)

May still get a Spider 2 at some point and build it up as a light XC build.
I picked up a Spider 2 on sale in early January & built it up as a light xc/ 24 hour bike (already have a 40+ lb Knolly Delerium T for heavy days) & absolutely love the Spider. It is a bit of a heavy frame but with reasonable parts (120mm Sid & mostly 9 spd Xtr) build came in at 24.75 lbs.
For it's purpose it is a fun bike. Fast, snappy, good pedaling, & enough suspension for xc duties. I can push a bigger gear on the intense than on other bikes.

It is a good "little brother"

(enjoy the Nickel)
Good luck with the nickel. I actually eyed up the new butcher for a nice am build but wasnt sold on the single pivot suspension even tho i hear its good. Im all about easy maintenance and for me the two grease ports on the vp2 suspension is as sick as gets!! Peeps worry bout busting em off but u really gotta be top centred on a rock or log to be doin that!! Im sure u made a good choice with the nickle tho!! SHRED THAT WHoRE HARD!!! Hahahaha!!!! Payceeee!
Thanks bohns1 - When I test rode the Nickel, I expected to come away still wanting the Blur, but in reality, for me, the Nickel felt much better without the pedal feedback. I know another guy who feels the same way about the bikes too, I guess its all down to riding style, weight, geometry etc. I fell for the bike in a big way and can't wait to pick it up tomorrow/thursday! :)
Thats exactly it man!!!! sheer riding style...I come from a long line of stumpys with the brain technology....Rode the butcher only in parking lot...But shredded ibis hd and blur ltc...I do alot of am type riding and felt ibis dw to stiff...for me i loved the plushness of the blur but also the way it felt locked in on uphill climbs!!!!I've also experienced pedal feed back but ive had that on all rides when suspension isn't just dialed correctly!!!!!Either or you can't go wrong with any of this years santa cruz line up....They lead the way as far as i'm concerned so enjoy your new beast!!!!! doggy......
Thanks man that's cool!

I've just confirmed with the LBS, I'm picking my Nickel up tomorrow and will post the pics once I get it built! :)
