I am considering replacing my 07 Heckler with an Intence 6.6.

Has anyone done the same? Or has anyone ridden both?

Can you offer me a pro's & con's of each bike?

Is the 6.6 as strudy or more sturdy than a Heckler?

How does a 6.6 climb compared to Heckler?

All comments appreciated!

I had a 6.6 from a Heckler and then went to a Nomad. The 6.6 was a very tall feeling bike for me and I couldn't get used to it. I'm 5'7" and I went w/a medium. I'm more comfortable on my Nomad, also a medium frame. It feels more familiar to me as my DH bike is a V10.
The VPP design on my other bike spoiled me so I wanted a trail bike that wasn't single pivot.

I demo'd both bikes before finally settling on an 08 Hecker. The 6.6 is a fine bike but it seemed a bit more sluggish and less responsive in comparison. I was fortunate to be able to climb the same hill on both bikes and to me the Heckler performed better. The 6.6 did seem a bit more sturdy but not by much.

Personally I don't think there's enough of a difference between the two bikes to warrant replacing one with the other. Both are good AM/Trail bikes. Better to spend the money on upgraded components IMHO.

Good luck on your decision!

FYI: I think the 6.6 is going out of production next year because of the Tracer VP (5.5"-6") and the soon-to-be-released Uzzi (6.75"-7.5") will eliminate the need of the 6.6 in the Intense model line-up. Also, both of the aforementioned bikes have VPP2 and the 6.6 does not and will not.

Therefore, you might only want to consider a 6.6 if you're getting a good deal, otherwise you might want to wait.

How is the Nomad compared to the Heckler? Does the Nomad climb and or desend better?

Thanks

There's a lengthy post on this exact same question here on this forum contained within the last 3 pages of posts. It had some very good discussion on it.
