Let's just say it's a totally different bike from the original Insurgent. More park and super enduro bike than the All mtn bike the original was.
For sure. Would make for a great free ride bike too. Interesting that it dropped the same day Santa Cruz dropped they're new mullet Bronson. I'd love to ride both just for funzies. But I'm not paying 5+k for an NX build Bronson😂. Thier pricing is so outta control it's silly.

? ? ? yeah it's completely insane. You'd need to spend at least 6k+some to get the GX build to be content. So insane. It is interesting how the release dates coincided. I've never ridden a MX bike or ever really considered it.

i’m confused. the new insurgent comes stock with a works components 1* angleset. does that mean the geo chart is consistent with the frame before the angleset is installed or is that the geo without?

Beta MTB did a review on it. Anyone else find it weird that so few testers get a hold of Evil bikes. Normally I would expect to see a release across a lot of the "major" review channels. But Evil only seems to ever be on Beta or Flow.

Does their PR department not like seeing reviews or are they very picky.

They only release one media bike and it has to make the rounds. Which is a good thing because frames are in such high demand costumers aren't taking a back seat to reviewers. The wait is long enough as it is. Pinkbike (for example) has burned bridges with the higher ups at Evil. They'll never get an Evil for review. Fanatik, Beta and Flow all make sense because they're local to Evil. They get first dibs most of the time.

I had heard that there was an issue with pinkbike but I always assumed it was rumors. I am curious as to what happened but I can understand it happening since stuff like that happens in a lot of industries.

Think it might be cause they're such a small brand and like someone already said they have a limited number of demo bikes.

Huh interesting. So they just can't get their hands on any for long term reviews. Evil bikes just sell too well I guess haha

Nice!! What build did you get, or did you get a custom build?
I got the frameset; got some parts around; just needed to get a new dropper since my current bike had 31.6. Otherwise just a swap. Comes with a coil SDeluxe but I had a Float X2 so I used it in this build. Its 80ish percent dialed, 1st Evil, cant complain, haha.

Any leads on a size L MX build anywhere?? Super interested in trying this bike out.
It will take some time, but I reccomend you go to Evil's website and check their dealer's list. Start calling them until you find one with a bike in stock. That is how I found my large Insurgent V3 MX, but it was the last one at the dealer at the time.

New v2 is on my list of potential new frames. Is it possible to run a 170 fork with full 27.5 setup? Yes it would lower head angle .5 ish and drop bb slightly, neither of which would be an issue for me compared to my current ride.
