Hey everyone,

I am considering to take part in Megavalanche with evil insurgnet V1 size Large.
I am a bit skeptic about the 27.5 wheels of the bike and in general i don't find insurrgent V1 as Fast bike(on straight line) which maintains speed like other Enduro racers like cube stereo or canyon strive or Scott Ransom.
what you think how suitable the V1 insurgent is for Mega? Will it require a lot more energy and technical skills rather than competing with another 29er named above?

I'll bite on this one. I've been on an insurgent since 2017, and love it. I've never raced a megavalanche, and in fact haven't raced the insurgent anywhere... even though I used to race DH in another lifetime. That being said, if I were going to race enduro on the insurgent, I would want a bit more of a slack headtube angle, and a bit steeper seat tube angle. (maybe even a mullet setup) It can be done, and if you concentrate on your fitness, and training, you could probably have a great time. BUT, I think it would be more taxing on your body riding the insurgent compared to a full 29ers. The major area I've noticed a difference between 27.5 and 29 is rolling over obstacles, and getting sucked into holes. On the long rides I've been on with buddies, the 29ers take some of the abuse off the rider's body if you screw up. the 27.5... not so much. For reference, my set up is full 27.5, 180mm Zeb Ultimate up front, 11.6 rear with cascade link and Michelin DH22's front and rear.. so it's built to be abused.
