For those that have gone from an Instigator II to a newer KM (2017+), what are your thoughts? I really like mine and actually prefer 26+ for where I ride, but the 142 rear is a bummer. I have 2 boost wheelsets (27.5+ and 29er) that I'd like to be able to use if needed (or, if I felt like it). I really don't want to buy any new 142 wheels becuase I feel like that size is so limiting. I know the geo is pretty close to the Insta (I probably wouldn't mind the slacker STA because I always run my seat as far back as possible).

I may be wrong, but I'm thinking steel is springy enough to handle 3 mm of flex in either chainstay without cold setting. Gnot-Boost is commonly 145 mm, for 1.5 mm of stretch in either chainstay to 148, and it doesn't seem too crazy to keep things moving for another 1.5 mm, does it?

I agree, but I was hoping to hear from someone who has already tried it. I'm sure it's been attempted many times, being a Surly.:D
