For a use Trail-hiking as you advise me to set the handlebar on my Altitude?
I mount the extent that I use on the xc bike or shorter?

For XC use, the same length stem as you'd use on a XC bike works, some people like to go shorter than 90mm but I think it really starts to compromise the climbing balance.
Usually to get to my favorite places I have to ride uphill for about 1 hour in the short course and 3 hours for that long, so I need to have a good position to go up.
I use a 70mm Raceface Atlas stem with no compromise climbing and it's much more forgiving in the techy stuff and descents.
Could be I have a shorter reach than average?
I think I'll try with the length that I use normally, when I feel with 90mm stem short, usually put to 110mm.
I run a 110mm stem on my Altitude 90, but I have orangutan arms.

100mm as the TT length is 5mm longer than the Vertex RSL.
Thanks for the tips, I chose a middle ground, I mounted a 100mm stem, now would wish 'some output in my tracks and decide the setting
