Would like to remove paint from my frame and go Raw. Have read all the searches and have come away with the feeling that 7005 al needs clearcoat but 6000 series doesn't. Not going to buff or polish. Is this correct? Would rather not coat. I'm trying not to spend money on this raw Turner Flux I have found. Wife said no,...must...resist...UGI :nono:
I'm sure stripping the paint off my Sette Riddik will make it as good as the raw Flux:skep:

While there may be some differences in the alloys, all 5, 6, and 7000 series aluminimum, will resist normally atmospheric corrosion.

Some of the alloys are clad with a purer type 2000 series to enhance salt water corrosion and severe pollution driven corrosion. Alclad, Duraluminum. You wouldn't want to take this off, but I doubt bikes have this.

The powder coat baking does heat treat both the 6000 and 7000 series alloys.

I would wonder about an never coated frame, has it been baked out properly?
