In AZ for a month or so

I'm in Arizona till February sometime. I'm camping the whole time.

I'm interested in rides of course, and people to ride with. I've done alot of the Sedona and Phoenix stuff already. Tuscon is on the agenda. Yes, I've seen the sticky.

I'd also like to do some backpacking, if anyone has suggestions. Just some overnighters, nothing too epic.

How about some open-minded small towns? I really want to avoid cities as best I can.

I'm on the fence about continuing on to Mexico. It seems a little sketchy. And I speak no Spanish whatsoever. Thoughts?

OK that's a lot of question so thanks in advance.

Oh yeah, I'm in Flagstaff at the moment and plan on being in Sedona the next four or five days.

Have a pretty flexible schedule to show you around( I am in tucson). This week sucks though. Next week I can do it. What type of riding do you like? Which trails did you like in Sedona/phoenix?

Hey Joel,

I'm around and can ride most weekends.

Cool towns to hang out...Jerome and Bisby come to mind. I'm sure you can find some nice local color in those towns.

Back Packing....I've still not done any while in AZ, but anything in the Superstition Wilderness should be high on your list. I'm sure others can chime in and help. I know Epicrider and Durtgurl have done a fit bit of over-nighters there.

When you are in Tucson, I can show you around or give you any GPX file for the routes here. Yesterday, I just finished scouting some new trails that few have ridden, could show you around there.

I have offered my house to many a MTBers, so if you need a place to shower and/or stay a night or two, let me know.

I used to live in Mexico and can help you in that area too. Send me your email/phone number over PM.

Thanks for the replies guys. I suspect I won't be in Tuscon for a week or so. Quite lovely in Sedona and I'm in no kind of hurry.

I was also thinking Superstition for a hike.

Well, I like them but my Bottlerocket with flat pedals does not. I try to limit the freeride bike to 40 miles or less.
