The means and the end.
As for slang, I've always been partial to "endo." I love the way it's three words, "end over end" condensed into one word and a letter, to make another word. So clever, and it really rolls nicely off the tongue. And it's always so lovely when someone endos; we usually get a great big laugh or at least a nice adrenaline rush. And I think us mountain bikers have given it a better meaning (more appropriate, at the very least) than those BMXers, who use the term to describe what we very well know is a nose wheelie. (also a good one.)
